Larkspur

Delphinium Ajacis

For centuries larkspur has served mankind as an agent that destroys human parasites such as lice, their eggs (nits), and itch mites. Herbals still specify larkspur for this purpose, and pharmacologists confirm that larkspur is a valid "pediculocide," or agent that kills body lice.

In the western United States, larkspur is second only to locoweeds in causing death to livestock that accidentally eat it while grazing.
