Menispermum Canadense

A tea prepared from the root or a root extract long served in herbal medicine as a diuretic, laxative, appetite stimulant, and what was called an alterative, or drug that favorably alters the course of an ailment. Herbalists today recommend the same tea as a tonic, diuretic, and laxative.

The berries may cause death by inducing an extremely rapid pulse rate and severe vomiting and purging.
