Seneca Snakeroot

Althugh seneca snakroot was dropped from the parmaceutical reference book the National Formulary in 1960, herbalists still recommend preparations made from the roots to bring up phlegm in cases of asthma and bronchitis. Scientific data indicate that this use is probably valid. In Europe the root is an ingredient in commercial cough drops and syrups and herbal teas.
