Sweet Violet

Viola Odorata

Claims that the leaves of the sweet violet offer a cure for skin cancer have not been substantiated by medical research. Today the plant's chief medicinal use is as an expectorant, although this use has not been scientifically validated. The plant has also been used as a diuretic, and this effect has recently been confirmed in animal studies.

Large doses of the root cause nausea and vomiting.
