Vervain

Verbenta Officinalis

Many of vervain's medicinal uses have been subject to scientific scrutiny. Pharmacologists find no evidence to support the plants use as an antispasmodic or as a contraceptive. Nor can they substantiate its efficacy in treating fevers, skin infections, and dysentery. They do, however, find evidence that the plant is effective as a diuretic, gout remedy, and anorexic (appetite suppressant).
